Do not understand fuel

I am playing on the mindcrack pack and so far am able to turn oil into fuel. I know you can use fuel for combustion engines, I was wondering what else I can fuel with it. I hear you can turn it into eu with fuel cans in generators, but I can't make fuel cans with fuel. The wiki for this is not useful. Any thing will help.

You can use it to fuel Steam boilers. That will produce MJ, and with an additional structure can produce EU as well. Check the Railcraft wiki for details.

More specifically, boilers produce steam, which can be piped to steam engines for MJ or steam turbines for EU. For a less resource intensive setup, fuel can be burned in petroleum generator or diesel generator to produce EU directly.

You don't need to can your fuel to burn it in the Diesel Generator; you can pipe it in directly via waterproof buildcraft pipes, redpower fluid tubes, or thermal expansion liquiducts.
