Not sure how hard it would be to implement but-
If, as is the case today, the Mojang servers/site is down, is it possible that, upon logging into the FTB forums, a pop-up or splash screen appears that says something to the affect of "Minecraft servers are down, blah, blah, go to help dot mojang dot such and such for status" so as to possibly avoid the spam posts like "HALP can't log in FTB is borkked pls fix NAOW" etc that is happening?
I hope that run-on/comma heavy sentence makes sense.
