Crash upon joining LAN world

Details of the issue The game allows me to join the LAN world. The minimap and hotbar at the bottom show and shows the world for a couple of seconds then the screen goes black and the game crashes. I hope there is a solution for this I was only playing the game this morning and gone back to play on the LAN world this afternoon and it keeps crashing.
