Crash Starting the .jar

So i download the beta launcher, move it to a folder on my desktop all of its own, right click, open with Java aaaaand
A console quickly appears and disappears. And then I'm left scratching my head.

I have 2+ gig of ram, processor is good.
I've restarted the computer.
I've updated and reinstalled Java 7 and 6.
I've been doing what little troubleshooting I know how to do for the past few hours.

Haven't seen anyone with this problem on the forum so I'm filling the void.


Anyone else with this issue have a solution?
Am I just thick?

What OS are you using, and what bit type? Also, what bit Java are you using?

Make sure you have the matching bit types between your OS and Java. I highly suggest only having Java 7, update 9 (I think that's what we're up to).
There's no real reason to have multiple Javas. Also, make sure you have the JRE, JDK doesn't have a runtime (which is needed).
 
I have followed the instructions in here, and it didn't work.

A tip that could be usefull. And it worked for me.
Try setting the folder in the ftb launcher to another disk than your c: drive. It worked for me somehow
