Windows .exe Connected textures option missing?

in Mindcrack, im using Sphax purebdcraft (not that the pack matters) and the option for connected textures is missing. help please! :I

You will need to run Optifine in order to enable those advanced features. Many texturepacks support these features, but its not supported by the vanilla mindcraft on its own.

but doesn't it run automatically or something? The option has been there before. I haven't played minecraft in a while and I recently reinstalled mindcrack. I remember the option (along with several others) being there without me having to manually run optifine. I just figured it ran in the backround

Ehm I dont know if Optifine have ever been a part of a modpack, but I doubt it. You need to download it, add it to the modpack in the launcher under: Edit mod pack, JarMods, Add mods(navigate and select the zip file containing the mod).

You are correct it never has been part of an FTB modpack because you to dowload it from the mc forums because it is an adfly link.
