Compatibility between Client and Servers

Hello everyone.

If I'm using the FTB modpack and my friend decides to put up a server and disables some mods, he doesn't want, will I still be able to connect to it or do I have to disable the same mods he disabled?

Forgot to say, that he's using the FTB server files. Just with some disabled mods

Provided that all the mod's that are on the server in use are the same version of the FTB beta that you're using, you will be able to connect without a problem. Just those mods won't be accessible to use when you connect.

If it still is a problem, just ask which have been disabled, and make both client ans server match
