I was wondering if you could combine all the 1.6.4 modpacks (Horizons, Direwolf, Tech World and Magic Farm) into one big modpack. So far I have selected every mod from them and combined into a single modpack but quite obviously it won't work. Could it be that the sheer size of the mod list is overkill for my PC or I am doing something terribly wrong? Anyway, has anybody managed to combine at least 2 modpacks? :D

It's definitely possible, and with the universal configs the FTB team has worked on, it's more than probable this is doable. The real limitation, of course, would be if your computer is capable of handling it.

Specifically for you, we'd have to know how and where it's failing for us to even begin diagnosing why it's not working.

I was able to combine Direworlf, Unhinged, and Unleashed by just some minor config tweaking, I haven't tried 1.6.4 though. If Minecraft is crashing when you try to combine them all, then if you post the console and the crash error, someone might be able to help (not me though, I don't know a lot about that stuff).

I have done more of less this myself, mainly just picked the mods I wanted from all those packs and deleted some of the ones I will never use. Currently running at 174 mods on the menu screen. There were some conflicts to iron out but over all not too bad.

With the inclusion of the Monster pack I'm up to 198 mods. There was quite a few ID conflicts however as the various modpacks seem to be using seperate configs regardless of the universal configs. As such I may need to restart my world.

it is possible, especially with the universal configurations. but people should remember that each pack has customized configurations.
with this I mean for example the configurations of MagicFarm is completely different from Monster, the ID's are the same, but the rest of the configurations...

so if you do try to put all these modpacks together, you'll need to dig through all the configurations and see if you can get everything balanced together.

I found some of the IDs were in conflict. Pretty easy to sort out though. It took me about another hour-ish going through various configs getting the balance I wanted myself.
