I was fiddling with some Optifine render distances, nothing fancy, but then this started happening:

Notice that the chunks have quit loading and how wonky the map gets. Behind it, you can see where there is just nothingness. Nothing loads and I have to relog real quick.

What do you think is causing this problem? I'm running FTB with 4 gigs of RAM and using Optifine 1.4.6 HD_U_D5

Thank you, Booker, but unfortunately that didn't solve my problem. This is so strange. After however many years playing Minecraft, I've never seen it just stop loading chunks.

Any other ideas?

Edit:
Eh...look at this crap:

This exact problem started for me tonight after I tried extending my render distance to "extreme" to make finding libraries in mystcraft ages easier. After it started I tried changing it back to my normal render distance and the problem still occurs. It's making exploring impossible because it isn't just a render problem, the chunks actually aren't there so I fall off the world when I walk in to one of those things. Help pls

Also using 4GB of ram and the same version of optifine. DW20 modpack btw.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with Optifine. Problem being, the version I'm using is the only one I've gotten to work, considering there is no real Optifine for 1.4.7.
