Carpenter says "Can't work" when hooked up to biogas engine with impregnated casing recipe inside

Hey y'all, I need some help with some Forestry mod stuff. I'm trying to work on an apiary and of course that involves making an impregnated casing using a carpenter. I have the carpenter hooked up to a functioning biogas engine (same format as the squeezer hooked up to a separate biogas engine, which works just fine), but when I insert the impregnated casing recipe, the carpenter says it doesn't recognize the recipe input.

Some help would be greatly appreciated. I'd attached some screenshots for clarification below.

You need seed oil for the recipe, as a fluid added to the Carpenter, and the recipe won't show until you add enough.
