Can't disable mods from modpack?

So I'm trying to disable a couple mods from direwolf's 1.7.10 mod pack but when I click the pack and then "Edit Mod Pack" the window that opens is blank. No mods are listed in the enabled column or the disabled column. I did this process successfully with Etho's mod pack so I'm not sure why this isn't working. The only thing I can think of is that Etho's is a third party pack, while Direwolf20's is an official ftb pack. Any ideas?
 
Edit pack manually either by renaming mods or by removing mods from mods folder.
 
Have you unlocked the profile? If not you will only get a list of mods not the option to enable/disable or add new mods.
