In the BC/RC/Forrestry (there really needs to be a more universal name for these 3 that can roll off the tongue easier as they are always together anyway) the way to store energy made by its power sources is by not by buffering mj kinetic energy, but buffering potential energy. To automate the use of different type processing you turn on engines, you could setup gates for on and off. I don't go for large operations, but I do want usually atleast 200 mj for use. Sometimes you'll need bee DNA stuff that needs 100mj. Sometimes you will need a quarry that needs 40mj. Sometimes you will need a distiller needing 4mj. Something just seems wasteful about turning everything on for a distiller...

Now quartz pipes are energy lossless correct? Is there a gate setting that looks for no energy in pipes that will trigger my engines on forcing a ton excess of mj into quartz pipes to be used on a need basis? Kinda would look cool as a non-multistructure multistucture.

I'm pretty sure those mod developers don't want you to store power in any fashion other than as liquid/solid fuels. It is intentional that there aren't batteries. It is intentional that they're adding constant drain to idle machines---at least the ones that don't already have it.

There is a gate conditional for "energy requested" that you can use to turn on engines that use Kinesis pipes.

BC used to annoy the shit out of me, but they have cleaned up everything. Especially with that add on that gives insert extract pipes or whatever. yeah, no battery, but thats ok. I think making a pattern of kinesis pipes to fill a 9x9 space with that just has mj running around it is essentially like a multistructure "battery". Need to test it though. Not a big deal if using boilers, but wastefulness irks me a little.

I use the term "The Platinum Trio" to describe them. Even if they're not the world's greatest mods (IMHO) their age makes them worth of the title.
