[Bug] NEI not working

Hi all,
I am trying to make a modpack to play with some friends, I have installed several mods and it is MOSTLY working. However, some parts of NEI are not working. It shows up, so its not disabled, as in, I can see all the blocks on the right hand side. I have the buttons on the top at the left, but none of the save or load buttons that are meant to be along the right.

Please could anybody point in the right direction as to fixing it?
 
As far as I am aware, it only shows up on a single player world and not on a server.
 
Sorry for this post. Apparently you need to have the NEI mod in the server to have access to do this. I took out all the client side mods from the mods folder.
