Is it possible to attach a buffer to a Blulectric Furnace? I can't get it to work, wood just gets stuck in the buffer. The black line is pointing towards the left hand side of the furnace as viewed from in front of the furnace.
I read that - I know what it does, but what is it for? The wiki implies that it consolidates single items into stacks for systems with multiple inputs, but I don't understand the problem that it's trying to solve. Can someone who has used one please tell me why?
An example is given on that site:
"This can be used when the player want different items to be stored in one place. For example, a player can have a Buffer next to a Autocrafting Table, which needs different types of items next to it to work, and use Filters to determine which items can go to which sides of the Buffer. If the player would had used a Chest instead it could had been filled up with only one type of the items leaving no room for the other needed types."
That last sentence is the unique selling point of the buffer.
Say you wanted to make saltpeter to power your forestry multifarm, you can centrifuge ender pearl dust for two of its three components, the problem is, that the ration is 4 to 5, and the recipe calls for 2 of each. So you just use the buffer, and make overflow cells go into an extractor trough a restriction tube and then back into the system.
OK I get it. Thanks. I think I got confused about a phrase on the wiki referring to single items, and that this was a mechanism for combining single items into stacks, but I didn't see how that problem could occur and nor did I see how the 5 separate inventories helped with that since it seemed in fact to be explicitly keeping them separate.
