Hello everyone:
In my SSP game I have a 36LP solid-fuel boiler set-up and at max heat. Now according to the Railcraft wiki a LP boiler produces 10 steam/tick per block, so my boiler should be producing 360 steam/tick. I have four hobiest steam engines wich use 10 steam/tick each for 40 steam and 8 industrial steam engines wich use 40 steam/tick each for 320 steam for the total 360 steam and I have TE Liquiducts connecting the boiler to the steam engines. However I was watching the boiler and it was loosing steam very gradualy, I'm trying to figure out where I'm loosing the steam from.

Ok I took one of the Hobiest steam engines off and the boiler is not loosing steam any more, however I'm still trying to figure out where I was loosing the steam from. The boiler should beable to handle 4 Hobbiest steam engines and 8 Industrial steam engines thats 360 steam used, unless my math was off.

how many liquiducts you got pulling steam? each one can only pull 100 steam i'm pretty sure?

Not sure on the exact number, but each CONNECTION can only pull a certain amount of steam. Once you have enough connections, you can reduce down to a single liquiduct line.

In Dire's let's play he used five connections on his 36LP boiler, and said that the actual number of connections needed was 4.5 if I remember right. That wouldn't line up with the numbers that you guys have been stating; but regardless, make sure you have at least that many connections.

Its not the connections, all of the engines were getting enough steam for max output of MJ. It was the boiler it self that was loosing steam. The steam gauge was going down and not keeping at 100% and was slowly loosing steam, untill I took off one of the hobbiest steam engines.

Your math looks correct. Just to take the liquiducts as potential culprits out of the equation:
Can you place the engines directly on the boiler and try again?

Would another option be just directly shoving the engines ON the boiler?

Ok I tried connecting the engines directly to the 36LP boiler, 4 Hobbiest and 8 Industrial. Before I started the engines the steam in the boiler was at 100% (around 750K), when I started the engines the steam dropped and hovered between 711K and 708K but didnt go down further and stayed steady. I took the engines off and re-connected them to the liquiducts and running and the steam in the boiler stayed in that 711K and 708K range, so it looks like its working now. Not too sure what was happening with the boiler before.
