Blizz rods?

I noticed them in the game then learned of the mob, but have spent many a long nights in taiga and can't seem to get them to spawn. Is there something I'm missing?

I see them even in daytime, tbh. Maybe something in your config?

I found two relatively early game, haven't seen them since.

Thankfully, you can make the powder out of snowballs, saltpeter, and...two other things that have slipped my mind but are fairly simple to acquire. Unless you need the rods themselves for something specific.

I just wanted to find a blizz to save a step. Guess it's not that big a deal, just a bit of extra redstone.
