Please take your FTB folder out of the location that it is in. Place it in a new (empty) folder on your desktop, with *no spaces* or *special characters* in the file path. It cannot be placed in any folders containing other files/programs or in any temporary folders, including Downloads. It needs to be placed in a folder, and cannot be placed directly on your desktop. Change the install directory (in the options tab of the launcher) to the new location.

Why the desktop? I always suggest "C:\FTB\"... but eh, each their own.

Having actual files on the desktop increases the amount of time the computer takes to start up, that's why my desktop is full of shortcuts to My Documents :p

and that ftb does not like the desktop for some reason...

  • Please change the install path to "C:\FTB\" w/o the quotes.
The actual application doesn't like the desktop, because it generates so many files in whatever directory it is placed. thus the issue Tad brought up.
there's almost never a problem putting it in a folder on the desktop

His probably doesn't like the desktop because there's spaces in the user account name
