Extrabiome mod made the biome too big and it made ton of extra biome so I'm having a hard time finding biome specific ore and but ore that cause me the most problem was emerald since I can't seem to find any extreme hill biome. So I was wondering is there some can of tool to help us find biome from the ic2 or buildcraft or any other mod. By the way I'm using mindcrack modpack.

There is a biome detector tool in vanilla. It's known by the name of F3. Just look in the debug screen until it says Extreme Hills. Although it should be easy enough to find them if you wander around a while.

I think he means finding the biome, not determining whether he is in one or not.

And afaik, there is not a tool to discover how far away and in what direction a biome is in

I am pretty sure they don't spawn anymore.
They breed at night, if two or more are in the same place though.

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
If you set the minimap to the smallest scale, you should find new biomes a bit easier.
If you want some long distance travel, go via the nether or follow the coastline in a boat.

Some villagers will sell you emeralds fairly cheap (Liberian villagers will paper/books->emerald).
If you need specific chemical outputs via centrifuge/electrolyzer there may be an alternate recipe.

Habitat locator would work, if you have a bee that only likes extreme hills.

I'm not sure if this was because it was a Mystcraft age, but I've found plenty of emeralds in a "Mountain Ridge" biome. Those are the ones with the red stone all over. Perhaps have a peek around similar 'extremely hilly' Extrabiomes biomes.

Good to know ExtrabiomesXL has ore support :D I've been deciding on where to settle.

Try making an iron golem, if you have the iron. Pretty sure ones you make will protect the village if you make it in the village

Well, the best way to protect a village is to fence it/light it.

An alternative would be to lock people into houses at night (a block in front of the door).

Had a village right near my spawn, so my first night wasn't securing a place for me, but to raid the village, and trap the villagers indoors. I think i've got about 8 villagers in one building, nice and safe (including a beekeeper and a wizard), but I do have a small problem. I noticed one of the buildings (being dark) has 3 creepers in it. When I finally get the resources to improve the town, dealing with those creepers is going to be an issue...
