So after getting my railcraft oak, birch and spruce farms working for a couple of days.. I now i have 3 full barrels each of Sapplings. I was trying to figure out what to do with them, beyond turning a few deserts into forests and i decided that i should make biofuel out of it, as its greener then oil-fuel. I dont know how to go about doing that though. also have loads of wheat, carrots, potatoes and wheat seeds to make the fuel out of.

I assume a fermenter waterproof-piped to a bio-generator waterproof-piped to a bio ol 7x8 iron tank or three. maybe im blind but i couldnt see how much mj the fermenter requires, 1-4 electric engines off solar to get it started till i have enough bio fuel to run a boiler full time to power it via a industrial steam engine?

Looking for an efficent setup

I'm currently running my fermenter off 2 biogas engines burning biomass. That's 10mj/t and the fermenter appears to be JUST keeping up with the output of a stacked 21x21x2 cactus farm. It's putting out biomass at a pretty good rate. I've considered hooking up a few stills to the other side of the tank to make biofuel, but short of massive assembly table setups that I don't need at the moment, I don't know that I need a boiler that much :)

To answer your questions more directly, a fermenter runs slow on less than 5 mj/t, pretty good at 5, and pretty darn good at 10. Other than that, I don't have numbers for power usage for you.
