I built a 7x7x7 reactor with 5 fuel rods and am running the reactor with the control rods at 88% (most efficient according to simulator). At 88% the reactor should output 700mB/t steam.

I built a turbine with an electrum coil and 28 blades (4x7).

They are connected with tesseracts for steam and fluiducts for water return to the reactor. The main water input to the reactor is a pump/fluiducts set up. The ports are configured properly (steam: reactor-red out/ turbine-red in; water: turbine-blue out/reactor-blue in x2)

The steam and water tanks on the reactor are full, but the turbine won't spin even when I let the system run for an extended period of time. The reactor shows 0.00 steam production.

The turbine runs with a Creative Steam Generator in place of the input fluid port.

Have you set the send/receive on the Tesseracts properly? Redstone signal settings?

Also you will need the same bandwidth for water as you do for steam. Most fluiducts have very limited throughput.

Double check that your Reactor and Turbine Ports are configured to send/receive correctly. It's something simple, but easy to overlook.

Edit:. XU Liquid Transfer Nodes can move a metric asston of water/steam if upgraded properly, if it is indeed a fluid throughput issue.

Thanks for the replies. There were a couple problems.

1) I hadn't configured the tesseracts properly. My bad. That is now sorted.
2) I am now using an AE2/EC2 setup for main water supply to the reactor.

- the pump/fluiduct setup was limited to 120mB/t steam throughput and that wasn't enough to start the turbine.

I am now running the reactor with 91% control rod insertion. The turbine is producing 3.5kRF/t with one fluid export buss configured with 2 capacity cards and 2 acceleration cards providing water to the reactor.

Is is worth adding more fluid export busses, or should I go directly to transfer nodes to upgrade the reactor water input? (my gut says I should go with transfer nodes...).

Use 2 tesseracts to transport water from the turbine and back into the reactor and you dont need to supply water any longer. It works as a closed loop system.

It is also much better on server/PC performance.
