Seeing as the mod creators are working together, I think it would be good if there was a bit more consistency between the mods. Here's a few things that have been bothering me a bit:

-Two types of silver ore when only one is needed.
-Several different ingots of the same type; copper, bronze, tin, silver all have 2-4 different varieties depending on how you smelt them. Is it not possible to just have one of each?
-Same thing with pulverized ores and macerated ores.
-Three different wrenches for different mods that are incompatible with each other.

Another thing is that most of the mods still feel like separate entities, thrown into the game for the sake of it. While a lot of people don't like gregtech because of the increased difficulty, I think its done a great job in bringing the different mods together in a way that forces you to experiment with all of them. That's the sort of 'working together' of the mods that should be encouraged if possible.

Things like allowing electron tubes to upgrade IC2 machines. Or adding the nice interface from Forestry/ThermalEx/Buildcraft machines added to IC2 and other mods.

I think focusing on better interaction between the mods, and dealing with bugs and conflicts, will result in a better game than just adding new mods and features.

Well FTB is still a pack of mods, not a single mod. So which mods ingot do you pick and why? :3 What if someone doesn't use one of the mods, etc

Just because these mods are in FTB, it doesn't mean that the creators are actively working together. Most of the mods use Forge, though, which allows significant compatibility between them. This is why BC pipes can pump into almost anything, for example.

As for the ores, you can remove some duplicate ore spawns by editing the configs manually.

But you are correct: these mods ARE separate entities, thrown into the pack for the sake of it. For most of them, nobody did any work to make them work well together other than a basic level of compatibility. They are not designed or balanced to be run alongside each other, nor should they be.

Think of FTB like a buffet. All the food is cooked and waiting for you, but nobody expects you to have a great time if you fill your plate with every single item. Be selective. Pick a theme. You'll have a better time, and avoid a tummy ache.

I believe that they already being worked on (If not already solved) for the next version.

I have no idea if the mod authors are working on that. However with as many mods as there are, It would be hard to make all of them intertwine perfectly. But, We can hope at least some of them are. :)

I'm pretty sure they are already working on conflicts, and fixing any bugs that come up. However, you just don't see them yet because the mod pack hasn't been updated for a while.

I would try Magic World as see if some of your issues have been solved in it (Can't test IC2 yet, But you can try with the others).

So far my favorite fix for this is to center my bases power around steam boilers.

Feed fuel in - get EU and BC power out, then use the power for all the cool stuffs! after getting enough iron to get an automated peat boiler setup going, immediately quarried out a 64x64 area under my base, plugging quarry directly into conduits coming from steam engines attached to the boiler. From that, got enough iron for a second boiler and 4 turbines :D. Moved quarry for a second 64x64 chunk and while that was going, designed IC2 steam room and turbines. Now currently working on factorization power, which I cannot run off my boilers :c

Well, GregTech is trying to integrate the mods together by forcing you to use other mods when trying to do IC2 stuff. Some like it for that because they are too lazy to try other mods otherwise and others hate it because they have to figure everything out again since IC2 wiki is wrong on many things and GregTech doesn't have proper info center.

The ores and metals should get fixed soon and hopefully they disable Factorization's silver when it can accept Thermal Expansion silver. Pulvers and dusts not so sure about, magic world doesn't have IC2 so making pulvers into dusts is not feasible but making dusts into pulvers would be complicated.

1. You can change these settings in the configs
2. You can change these settings in the configs
3. You can change these settings in the configs
#4 can be looped in here:
All of these mods are also able to be self sufficient. Therefore they need to have their own tools, and world gen. So, FTB has made it easier to just change the configs ;)
