What are those ball of light that shoot lightning at you? I've seen a green, purple and orange one.
anybody knows what they to or what they are used for ? How to catch or destroy it ?

thanks[DOUBLEPOST=1360695134][/DOUBLEPOST]And what they are called ?

Wisps from thaumcraft a cursory search of the forums would yeald the desired result I think :).

Kill it like you would any other monster. Can't catch 'em.

Welcome to Thaumcraft. Prepare for battle or move your base.

Actually if you're lucky you can find the dark node nearby that is causing your problems. Look for an overworld dungeon surrounded by weird obsidian totems. Wall this up (the totems are a marker, not the source of your problem). Try not to get killed by the wisps and don't anger the pigmen. It should be within a minecraft day's walk of you, but as for what direction it's tough to say.

If you're UNlucky, the dark node doesn't have this tell (I'm told worldgen vagaries like volcanoes can make them very hard to find them) and you'll need to research in Thaumcraft to discover a tool that will let you perceive the magical world.

Not all wisps are aggressive, but the rule of thumb on my server for the Uninitiated is "the more red or black they are, the more you should avoid them."

Only red, purple and black wisps are aggressive and even then they do not actively seek you out. If you don't have the equipment to kill them you can leave them be. They hurt a lot.

Wisps form from flux and the mentioned obsidian constructs always have a dark node that generates flux by itself. And that flux is mutatio flux so the wisps born from it are mutatio wisps and hostile. When you create flux by dumping extra aspects into the aura with the crucible it will cause wisps of the types you dumped so as long as you make sure you won't dump mutatio, malus, animus or mortuus you should be fine. Causing very high amounts of flux is also bad even if it's "safe".
