this map has a great deal of verity of biomes near, and the village is one of the best iv ever seen! it didn't have one thing or the other. it had it ALL! every shop you can think of! (as far as i know)
i took it upon myself to do all the pre-work, IE cleaning up the mess that natural map gen leaves behind. aka huge dips in the walk and unassailable buildings, gardens 5 blocks in the air etc, also fenced off the town to prevent early invasions wrecking the villagers and wiping it off the face of.. (insert your world name here) i also found the valuable villagers and put them in "shops" to keep them from wandering in unsafe areas, also you'll know where there at every time you want to interact with them, feel free to "free" them... (who would do that)
the loot in the chests have been left as it was. so everything in those are as i found them. (haven't even checked them myself yet!)
also. enjoy the radio station (name of station can be found at the base of the tower), as a complementary visual beacon to help you find your way back!)
anyway. this should put a great start to any adventure! good luck and have fun!
