I've become fascinated with building farms. You name it, I have built it. I have 7 multiblock Forestry Farms, harvesting wood, apples, chestnuts, walnuts, carrots, cocoa beans, etc. I have a RP2 based Auto-wheat farm that at lowest timer setting produces 40 wheat a second. I built an old school flower/seed farm that produces a tremendous amount of flowers and seeds. I have a mammoth Steve Cart's tree farm that provides the wood (gets turned into charcoal) that drives a few LP boilers that provide all the power to run everything else on the farm complex.
I've been wanting to build an automated corn farm for a while, and the other night I sat down and built one. I couldn't find a tutorial online for this farm, but I based it off of some of the auto-wheat farms that I have found.
Essentially it is built as modular cells that can be extended if needed. I use a block breaker, a transposer, and two deployers for each module.
Everything is fed with pneumatic tubes, with the block breakers and transposers pulsing with red power pneumatic tubes. I'm using a timer and two repeaters to alternate the signal to the two deployers. One plants the corn seed, the second applies bone meal to auto-grow the corn plant. The block breaker harvests the corn, and whatever it doesn't gather, gets sucked up by the transposers.
For now, extra bone meal and seeds get destroyed, but I have been thinking about using extra seeds to make popcorn. I provide bone meal pulverized bones from a skeleton spawner. At full speed it plants and harvests 4 corn plants every .2 seconds. I usually run it on a 5-10 second cycle, there is only so much corn that you can use.
I hadn't seen one posted here yet, and I figured that others like to see it.
