automated alkahestry

Hi guys, I've been trying to automate some alkahestry (from Xenos reliquary), basically all I need to know is if there's a way to get xycraft fabricator to wait for a stack before fabricating? or will it only do 1 at a time? basically the recipe I need is 64 bones+alkahest=2 lapis, is there anyway, to get the fabricators to not craft a stack at a time instead of individually?

I think there's a Redpower machine that keeps/pulls certain amounts of items. I guess you can have your bone production going to a chest, then this RP machine pulling exactly a stack of bones and throwing it into the fabricator.

Using the sorting machine from Red Power 2 you can specify the exact amount to be pulled from the chest and sent onto your fabricator. If you wish to see an example of how to do this go check out Direwolf20's videos on youtube. Find the videos for his SMP series season 4. Look for the videos about his solar factory that he did not long ago. He uses a sorting machine to send a specific amount of UUM to different fabricators to make the different resources needed. This solution should work for you as well.

hmm, I think you mean the regulator? it can provide exactly a stack at a time, but having tried it, the fabricator still treats the recipe as 1 bone at a time. I'm pretty sure it's impossible, the alkahest recipes are a bit unusual, in that the lapis isn't crafted in the same way as other things, the recipe only makes the alkahest, the lapis is magically transported into the inventory. I think thats partly what causes the problem, the best I've found so far was AE's auto crafting, it could pull a stack at a time, and recognised the recipe as involving a stack, but still got nothing... my next idea is going to be the crafty turtle, see if that can manage it, I just need to figure out how that works.

ahh, I know how you mean, I thought about sorting machines set up like that, but i think it might meet the same problem, I'll give it a shot though

You could be right about the problem. My problem is I know nothing about Alkahestry, so I'm just guessing based on what I do know.

how about a filter? plop all your bones in a chest and set a filter to suck only 64 bones at a time. Simples.

I've tried the filter & I've tried crafty turtle, I'm almost the problem is that the recipe, is 1 bone, 1 alkahest gives 1 alkahest, so no matter how I try and provide the items, every single auto crafter does it 1 at a time, because that's the valid recipe. I don't know how exactly the lapis/redstone is created, but I'm pretty sure it cant be automated, the recipe doesn't have anything to do with the returns.
