(In Continuum 1.3.1, no extra mods added and is on my own server)

So currently, it outputs 10+ sugarcane from each section per hour (rough guesstimate since I haven't times it). The issue is loss. Well and more would be nice but for now I'd like to reduce losses. As you can see, I have the pistons activated by the observer blocks to break the sugar cane. My attempt to reduce loss is using the fan from OpenBlocks at a slight angle to push the stuck pieces into the water to be taken to a conveyor belt. Is there a more efficient way of going about this, or is this as good as it gets? I just need a decent output of sugar cane to feed the Industrial Fermenter to make the ethanol needed to make biodiesel. Any advice or telling me I went overboard is all appreciated.

Looks like I may figure something out before this ever gets moderated.

Is this FTB Continuum? If so you look to be at a point Cloches are available. Build 2-3 of those and you will be hemorrhaging cane in no time.
If it's not Continuum, you definitely have access to Cloches.
Use 2-3 for Hemp also for seed oil, better source and the hemp at that rate makes a good wool farm.

I don't know Continuum, but according to the modlist you can use EnderHopper from DarkUtilities to get the sugarcane.
