So, from what I can tell, crystal capacitors drain vis in the area and store them, effectively increasing the total amount of possible vis in the area.

Aura nodes can be created by growing a silverwood tree.

Thus, by continually growing silverwood trees inside your base, you can effectively create super nodes. In conjunction with crystal capacitors, you can really drive the available vis in the area.

What effects flux removal?
 
In 1.5.X? Time more then anything.
If you must hurry it up, Thaumic Bees has a bee that can scrub flux from a node. But sometimes flux events are actually pretty good, IIRC. And natural flux release usually comes in the form of wisps, and if it isn't a "healthy" type of essentia(which is basically anything other then a few cherry picked aspects including the "Pure" aspect), those wisps love to break your face.

...also Crystal Capacitors are basically vis batteries, but they only draw vis from the area if it is above the natural limit, and that relies on crystal clusters.

When would you ever need that much vis? And, if I'm understanding this correctly, it is possible to completely avoid putting flux into the environment through careful planning with alembics, multiple cauldrons, etc. right?
