Hello I've been working with bee breeding for a while now and have some great alveary setups and I do have Apiarist pipes setup to auto fill the Princess and drones back in and the items to a processing facility. What I don't have yet though is a way to control that only 1 drone goes back in and the rest are sent off to be processed. Is there a way that I can use the Apiarist pipe to control this better? If not what other options do I have? Note I would like to keep the setup as simple as possible and I also am working with the Magic World pack. I did add RedPower to it however I would like to minimize it's use in the build.

The easiest way is to just keep full stack of drones in alveary. Additional benefit of this is that you can very easily take them to further breeding or replace the queen with some princess and take queen to newly build alveary.

Ah of course! with Build craft logic if the spot is full then the path will be closed and the drones will route on. I will need to upgrade my gates to Iron AND gates then to only pass one bee at a time to check if full and then it will send the bees out the right path rather than falling out. I already have a stack of each drone type when I breed so I can make new queens as needed.

The updated pulse rates on Autarchic gates send items out so fast that their path is committed and then when the first drone fills the rest fall out since they are right behind the first bee.

How about using AE import and export buses? they'll do the job without worrying about your bees popping out of pipes. But this is only when you actually have the "bees in production" as you gotta breed them by hand.

Using the Magic Pack and trying to stay low tech. AE does seem cool though and I look forward to trying it out in my Tech world.

I use gates very often, but not with apiaries/alvearies. Just putting apiarist pipe next to alveary with bees going into it and anything going further works well: http://i.imgur.com/O4GloDq.png.

Just goes Ultmaite , it's got all the bee mods in it but some trying to stay away from GT as they don't like it's "hard". I actually like it since it's premotes players working together and not hiding in holes with Mk3 collectors setup churning up diamonds every 2 secounds.

just set the side to the alvery as any bee and the output as anything then later on you add a apirist pipe to seperate the drones and combs its how i do it
