So currently I have a 36 HP steam boiler hooked up to an MFR tree farm feeding it, and I have the steam feeding commercial steam engines (Couldn't bother to get the steel for industrial ones.). Right now, though, I have eight engines, and three outputs from the steam boiler feeding the line of pipes hooked up to the engines. Here is the picture of how I'm currently outputting the steam for all three outputs.

Is there any self-sustaining way to do this without needing constant intervention from me? (Such as replacing coal for stirling engines, or refilling fuel for combustion engines)

Also, sorry for not spoiler-tabbing the picture. Couldn't figure out how.

Use fluiducts set to extract mode to feed the steam to TE3 steam dynamos.

Use conduits and energy cells for storage, then use conduits to power any MJ machines you might have.

more outputs, upgrade the pipes to gold (or go to TE fluiducts)

the boiler auto outputs some steam per output by themselves so you can put the engines directly next to the boiler and use gates to provide the redstone signal.

Haha, forgot to mention how early-game I am. I'm lucky to have the MFR tree farm and the QuarryPlus, both of which nearly bankrupted me as far as iron and diamonds go. They're the most high-tech things I have. I'll definitely look into the fluiducts, steam dynamos, conduits, and energy cells but if anyone has a lower-cost solution, I'd love to hear it.

fluiducts are 2 copper and a lead per 6, you only need 9 outputs without active redstone signal to get it all out of the boiler

I'm mostly talking about the hardened glass required, as that requires an induction smelter (or whatever the Thermal Expansion thing is), which requires gold, which I have a single ingot of. Suppose I'll have enough resources after my current small quarryplus quarry is finished to start making the upgrades.

Use the opaque version, it's cheaper

Not to mention opaque pipes are better on your machine/server cause of not have to render said liquid/items in the pipes. So FPS tends to be higher. But if server, and machine are great, these won't be an issue anyway. They're a nice early game option since you aren't likely to have excess hardened glass.

You just made my life a whole lot easier. Didn't see the opaque versions.

I want you to read this reply in the most neutral and funny way as possible.

Of course, you wouldn't see the opaque version now, would you, Mr.oh-poor-me-i-run-my-game-on-a-paltry-30+-fps-only-player :p (please read that in rowan aitkinson blackadder jokey tone) You need to play consistently in 15 fps for a week, before you start appreciating all the little things like this. ;)

All the pseudo-insults were meant in jest, and are to be taken so. Please don't lose your shirt over it. It is nice that people can play the game in good settings. :)

Hehe. I do admit, my FPS is better than most. It was mostly the lag spikes caused by NEI that dropped me down to 2 fps for a good minute or two everytime I opened my inventory, which I forgot to mention on the thread, which was why I focused on the alternative to NEI.

And CraftGuide, while decent, still sucks compared to NEI.
