Hey guys, your friendly neighborhood fenrir here.

I got a question regarding Minecraft Skins.

I've been using a basic wolf skin for months now and it's pretty much an eye sore at this point. I'd like to change it to a more suitable skin that's fitting to my MC username. However I have no MC Skin skills.

Could anyone provide some MC Skinning tips that could help me out?

Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I've offered to make skins for people in the past. I just need to have a picture (really any basis for comparison)
But really the only way to get better at making skins is by practicing ;)

My sage advice would be get someone who is good at art to do it, low resolution pixel art is really hard if you're going for proper shading and detail. If you'd rather do it yourself try a 3rd party program that does a real time rendering of what your character would look like as you work, it really saves some time. I should get a new one really, I've had some random skin coloured pixels floating on the hat layer for months. I always wear helmets like I'm having a constant bad hair day. :p

I would recommend using Paint.net which is a free image editing software. The first thing i did with it was to make my own skin. Later i made the avatar picture to the left.
