Hey guys. Anyone know if the swarmer block for the alveary will cause the original queen to become unstable and die after a few generations or if it's only the new princesses that are affected?

If you think you've found a purpose for it, I'd love to hear, as I've been stumbling on this myself.

It's for short-term boosted production of bee products, I'd imagine, being "balanced" out by the fact that you have to keep feeding it royal jelly to keep getting more princesses.

Honestly, with quarries and RP2 bores it's much easier to just get rocky bees- I have some 100 sets sitting around somewhere that I haven't gotten around to using, and I've only run like ~8 quarries so far.

BTW guys, leoprine bee's can now be gotten, get them while you can! I got mine from simply joining a meadows bee and a forest bee. They make silky combs and eggs, so you can fully automated feathers, chicken meat, and eggs. Just route some eggs to a dispenser or deployer, have a RailCraft track move full grown animal to a kill chamber with transposers and melee turtles.

Using the Swarmer to get some extra princesses and using them for liquid dna or extracting the leoprine species serum would work quite well I imagine.

Yeah, and once you have the serum for special bee's like that, never lose them, because unless you feel like messing with your system clock they can only be gotten once per IRL year. I think there is also Christmas bee's or something, but I know there is at least one more holiday related bee.

Or, just throw drones against any princess until it's bred in... that works and the bee does not decay. So, I don't quite get it.

I imagine if you are in a server where it is very hard to find enough wild princesses at all. I can not imagine needing more than one production bee of any type once you hit alveary though... I am amazed at how fast you can produce in an alveary.

Honestly, this may be true for non-dust bees, but for stuff like rusted, valuable or ruby, it really isn't.

I have an alveary + apiary with platinum bees and production is still SLOW.

You have to load the alveary up with frames. 9 frames for a default slowest platinum, 7 for fast, 6 for fastest (the last one untested yet). You will get 1 platinum every 2 minutes (a comb per 30 seconds), which I think is probably enough.

If I load up my fastest bees (aura bees totally worth it) with 16 frames, what will happen?

Magic?

Nope, there is a cap. The most you can produce is two of each product and one of each speciality. The number of frames needed to hit that depends on the bee.

For automated processes, you tend to need more than one queen, but usually not many, two to three will give the resource intensive processes more than enough.

like I'll be getting to running my base off four distilled queens soon, and that will be overkill.

Only through April 15th, if the Master Apiarist DB is accurate.
So me getting a leporine bee when trying to get a common bee was lucky?
However it was leoprine forest, but bred the forest out and now i have a lovely ol apiary (no alvearys yet) pumpin me drones of it.
