Hello, like the title states at the moment when I try using the curse client to play ftb unleashed I'm getting this bad login error. It says " Failed to login: Bad login "

I have no literally uninstalled everything and reinstalled it. I changed my password because alot of people say someone else may have logged on to your account / be logged onto it right now.. but no. I checked on a website that shows if your logged on or not and it says offline. Also, I can log on to normal mine craft and play and other modpacks (Infinity evolved for an example works fine... ) I have no idea why this is happening and Ive now been waiting over 16 hours for it to hopefully resolve. Also, yesterday I got the update for the new mine craft launcher.. which after a google search I guess has been around for awhile so Im not sure why it took so long to get to me but I have a feeling it has something to do with that because I played FTB Unleashed just fine two days ago...

Any and all suggestions will be appreciated thank you

I'm sorry, that I can't give a solution. I can however confirm your problem.

I haven't played FTB in a couple of days. In the meantime the launcher appears to have been updated. Now I can't join my FTB server with the same message you are getting.
"Failed to login: Bad login"
It's my own MC server on a private, home based dedicated HP Proliant Microserver. So I can safely say, the server hasn't changed either. It used to work perfectly before. Nothing in my environment / account hast changed except for the launcher update.
To make sure it's not a network problem, I even set up a vanilla server which I can join without any problems via the game directly (no launcher).

Hope this thread will get some attention.

I think I found a solution (rather a workaround). This is what I did:

1. Install the latest Java version from Oracle. (Right now it's version 8u121)
If you have a 64 bit System (which you probably do), install the 64 bit version of Java.
Copy/Paste an replace the DOTs with real dots:
wwwDOToracleDOTcom/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html
2. In Curse, click the Settings icon to the lower left
3. In Settings go to 'Minecraft'
4. In the Minecraft settings go to 'LAUNCH METHOD'
4.1 Select 'Jar Launcher'
4.2 You should be able to choose a 'JAVA VERSION' (you might need to scroll down a little further to see this)
4.3 Choose 'Java 1.8.0.121' (Version number might differ by the time you read this)
5. Click 'DONE'

You might restart Curse now.
When you restarted it, click the Minecraft (creeper symbol) in Curse. It might now say something like 'some MC parts are missing...' Just click OK, your settings will still be there afterwards.
When you start FTB now, you should have the old style launcher again. From here on everything works like before again. You can join your servers now.

Hint:
At some point I got the Error Message that the max. allocated RAM was too big or something along those lines. The reason was that I had a 32 bit version of Java installed. If you do, too, download and install the 64 bit version from the link posted above.

EDIT: Edited the URL so this post doesn't need a review by a mod and you can get the solution quicker.
EDIT2: Updated instructions

While I do agree with using the jar launcher method. I do not recommend the use of Java 7. It has too many memory management issues. Instead make sure to download the latest java 8 64 bit from Oracle.

Thank you! I'm sure this will work for other people that read this thread! But, last night I just deleted everything lol. And, now it works. I'm not sure what changed.. But thank you for your responses!!

Thanks for bringing this up. I double checked and I have, for whatever reason, Java 8 32 bit instead of 64 bit installed. That probably caused the RAM error message. After installing the 64 bit version, the launcher also worked with Java 8. I'll edit the initial post to fix this.

Thank YOU for posting this in the first place! I couldn't find any other posts about this topic via google. After reading yours, I was pretty certain it had something to do with the launcher.
