So, my brother and I have been playing FTB monster, most recent version as of today which is 1.1.2, using Enhanced Portals 3.0.0b-final2. I am wondering why on earth is this abhorrently buggy and glitchy mod is being included in the monster pack? We ended up losing our save on a multiplayer server due to the "inventory bug" that completely crashed the server and corrupted our save. We were able to restart a few day old back up, however this is inexcusable. The mod is obviously completely unstable and should at the very least be defaulted turned off in the modpack.

The inventory bug is interesting and hopefully documented elsewhere. What I know of it, is when you cross a portal, your inventory stops updating to the internal server unless you open a chest, a bag, a machine or otherwise. However if you open your inventory using the "E" default button and modify your inventory that way, it will not stick. For example, if you brought an item to your hotbar from your inventory after crossing a portal from enhanced portals, it would force an update onto your inventory and show that your block is in the place it was and not in your hand.

On top of this, if you happen to shift your inventory around and happen to right click the enhanced portal with an item that you moved after crossing the portal (Meaning, you teleported, moved a cobblestone to your first hotbar slot and then right clicked the portal using the item in that hot bar.) it not only will crash your game, but will corrupt your save to oblivion.

So a warning and a request, don't use enhanced portals 3 until this is fixed, and either remove it/disable by default from the modpack or have the community fix this terrible bug.

backups are very important for people playing modded minecraft.
I suggest installing WorldStateCheckpoints for automated backups.

Honestly, instead of scaring people away from an amazing mod, just take backups. It isn't that hard and you should be doing it anyway. Even if Enhanced Portals was stable, there's always another one that isn't and will corrupt your save. That's the danger of playing modpacks.
