Details of the issue i feel like an idiot i cant find links to the 64 bit server download links i have the server file but as it won't use more then 1.5g of ram it's the 32 bit server file am i missing something?
 
It's your java version that sets that limit.

So if you got 64-bit OS, then you should download, install and use 64-bit java as well.
 
ok that doesn't make me feel smarter i'm gonna have to go look through my old notes from back when i did this stuff and make sure i've set it up right i do have 64 bit java as i'm running ftb with 6g of ram dedicated to it so i have obviously set up the server wrong and will come back here if the issue persists
