new 3x3x4 (x, y, z) design:

3x3x3 (older):

It's probably been invented before but this is the most compact I've gotten so far with Nether pumps.

It's also portable due to the Ender Chests. i.e. I can setup a receiving station anywhere as long as I have another set of Ender Chests and a Liquid Transposer.

I have updated it from 3x3x3 to 3x3x4 to allow for slightly more control and speed and preventing item spill:

Note that the Magmatic engine and liquid transposer are both connected directly to the pump. This is because buildcraft pipes are too slow for the transposer. The engine is hooked up directly to quickly receive lava.

Here, I have an autarchic gate on a wooden transport pipe for BOTH of the sending Ender Chests (the ones with one purple dye in the middle and two white):

Then, I have a cobblestone structure pipe connected to a hopper with a gate to check for inventory space. Note that you cannot put the structure pipe directly on the liquid transposer as gates cannot correctly determine their inventory (this is also the reason for the hopper in the new setup):

I have an iron OR gate on the golden conductive pipe connecting to the transposer to check for both energy storage and tank storage. If either of those are not full, a redstone signal is output and wired to the magmatic engine up the walls via red alloy wire:

and here you can get a better look at how the conductive pipes are placed:

If anyone else needs clarification, please ask. :)

Couldn't you make it even more compact by replacing the red alloy wire with red pipe wire to another gate on the wooden conductive pipe, controlling the engine?

I am not exactly sure what you mean, but I made this system to handle more than one pump at a time and endure high loads, therefore it is crucial to independently control the item transfers so as to not overflow the hopper. The autarchic gates check to see if there is inventory space via the structure pipe's redstone signal and if true, sends an item to the hopper. This prevents overflow. I currently have around 30 stacks of tin cans in circulation

I meant that you could move everything one block further in ( if there's space for the chunkloader somewhere further in ) with red pipe wire and an additional gate next to the engine, instead of the red alloy wire going from the iron OR gate. This is with the 3x3x3 setup, but that seems like it should work on both. Shouldn't affect the rest of your system.

Ah, I get it now. Never got red pipe wire to work before, but I shall try this and see how it goes. ^_^

I'm duplicating it in creative now and you can make it a bit more compact without red alloy wire in both places actually, though you'd need two different pipe wire colours so that the structure pipe and iron OR gate don't interact with each other.
Trying to see if i can make it 3x2x3

I got the iron OR and the engine working with pipe wire. going to try the others tomorrow. its late :p

Sometimes it can be worth it to go to a higher gate-type rather than trying to work around multiple gates just so you can use 4 types of pipe wire and have all the additional AND or OR options able to be set.

As I'm short on diamonds at the moment, I'll stick to making tons of golden gates for now :p
