What is the bug:
The guide pages under modpack/ need to be saved in unicode encoding, otherwise the embedded formatting codes don't get read correctly on Linux, and are printed as literal characters when viewed in-game.

Re-save the files with utf-8 encoding.
I opened the files in vi, changed encoding from latin1 to utf-8, then saved them. After that, colors/formatting rendered correcting, instead of appearing as '?1', '?l', etc.
