1.0.1: Berry animation not playing

What is the bug:
I recently ate some raspberries from Natura. The animation was not playing, but the numbers of berries in my hotbar went down, and hunger was refilled

MC-vanilla bug, not FTB specific : somehow some animations just stop/abort or down play at all by some error. This is a error in the vanilla MC and not related to Forge or FTB at all.
