¿Bee breeding the "magical way"?

Hi, i'm playing in a server with some friends. We are using a custom modpack without any technical mod. The only exception to that is Forestry and Extra Trees/Bees, but with the genetic machines and non essential contraptions disabled. The other mods are Thaumcraft (with addons), Botania, Ars Magica, Blood Magic, Ancient Warfare... magical/medieval themed or aesthetic mods.

So, besides extra bees or gendustry, what can we use to modify bee traits or make the breeding process easier?.

If you have magic bees it has some things to aid in bee breeding (not to the level of genetics or gendustry, but it is useful stuff).

If you've not got Gendustry or Genetics available, (or the Extra Bees Genetic Machines pre 1.7 minecraft), then the only way is selective breeding. Which can be a pita, especially if the ideal traits you want are on a bee that mutates with the bee you want the trait on.
