I dont know about all that, but I've been using the mod pack 1.5.2 NGT since it's out, been running the v0.8 since its out too, but been having this problem only after I updated to the new launcher if it can help identify the problem... and for myself, it freezes exactly at the same spot.

I just updated to the new Launcher, and since then, Everytime I Launch the 1.5.2 NGT v0.8 Pack, The console Freezes at the Obsidiplate loading its config. Sometimes, the console just crashes, sometimes, it finishes it work but like after 3 minutes of being frozen

So, anyone else running the 152 packs on servers using lots of Ram or just me?
