Aaand shaders!! Thanks, though I can only use Chocapic's shaders, the others aren't working. I can run Low at 48fps and Med at 51fps, High brings me down to 9fps.

I can't seem to get liquid into a forestry squeezer, it doesn't accept liquid coming from fluiduct or directly from a tank valve. How do you guys do it? I don't use buildcraft btw so those crappy pipes are out of the question.

I like faithful, its basically a better resolution vanilla. This way when a mod doesn't have a texture it doesn't look completely out of place like it does with other packs.

Took me 2 days of sorting through a bunch of mods, packs, vanilla MC and I've finally found the perfect balance. I'm using DW20 pack but just for the stability and updates that it provides. I've also managed to get shaders working, finally :). Mods I've added: Damage Indicators, Better Storage...

I also use a Steve Carts tree farm. For automation you want to input your fuel always into the bottom blocks and take the steam from anywhere on the boilers on the top, don't forget to use 9 solid fireboxes for solid fuel or 9 liquid fireboxes for liquid and you can't mix them up.

I'm not sure which mod does it but in the Horizon pack for example once every 2 night cycles it spawns groups feral zombies that charge you, also all mobs are attracted to the player from a wide radius so traveling at night is quite risky.

I prefer vanilla worldgen above any other. All in all at the end of the day you want somewhere in the "triangle zone" of different biomes to set up base and these mods make that very hard. I'm playing with ATG atm but I'm going to change to a normal map. At first ATG seemed amazing, the hills...
