    OP-ness Verification

Again, I disagree. Having ones mod as a core component of a high-profile pack is of considerable benefit to a mod author. Let's not be disingenuous about that. My opinion is that this benefit comes with a measure of responsibility. Not to hold the hands of and pander to every admin/player of...

    OP-ness Verification

That's your opinion; mine is that it's the purview of a mod author to resolve bugs, exploits and imbalances rather than relying on individual server admins to tweak configs and work around said problems. You've certainly clarified your position on the matter in your refusal to remain civil...

    OP-ness Verification

I'm expressing my opinion on OP/imbalanced mods in SMP. My objection to said mods is that they are enabled by default on all SMP servers, and it's extremely difficult (short of outright removing the entire mods) for server admins to balance them and prevent unintended exploits from unforeseen...

    Equivalent Exchange has to go.

To be fair, the rock crusher is pretty slow and has a low chance (less than 1%) to get a diamond from gravel. Gravel itself is only a 10% chance when pulverizing cobblestone. Doesn't really compare with how easy it is to get diamonds via EE3 and a soul-shard. With a T5 soul shard dropping 5...

Recipes changes from refined iron to steel !

OP's referring to the Gregtech changes; I would guess that the server he's on has the Gregtech configs set to expensive and he's previously been playing with cheap recipes (I believe that expensive was made the default config not so long ago). The refined iron/steel change doesn't apply to...

Recipes changes from refined iron to steel !

You don't need to get to a nether fortress to get a blast furnace. Blaze Powder (Cinderpearl flowers in a desert biome) and Slimeballs (Slimes in a swamp biome, or via factorization) make Magma Cream, and you can put netherrack in a compressor to make nether bricks.

Biomass: how do YOU do it?

Not sure which modpack you're using, but if it's Ultimate then you can combine the Lilypad of Fertility from Xeno's Reliquary with Xychorium Soil from Xycraft and a harvest-buddy golem setup from Thaumcraft 3. Supercharges sugarcane. Haven't tried boosting it to its absolute maximum...

    Applied Energistics Network Help

Not really, you need a physical connection or (if the distance is short enough - 32 blocks when fully boosted) you can do it wirelessly. If you only need specific items from the AE network to be available in the skybase, you could always run an export bus to an ender-chest on the ground with...

    Equivalent Exchange has to go.

I don't think this true at all. The entry-level for EE3 is extremely low, (can be achieved in the first few hours of joining a server) and it's extremely powerful early-game when you need specific items that it can generate cheaply (such as obsidian from logs, blaze rods from blaze powder and...

    OP-ness Verification

There are a ton of "questionable" mod interactions in the Ultimate pack that can devastate any semblance of balance. While some would argue that "balance" is not a consideration unless playing on a competitive PvP server, I'd disagree. One of the main draws of playing FTB in SMP is that...

Steve's Carts Tree Farm - despawning cart

Had this happen once or twice to me too; never was sure what caused it, but I have a suspicion that it was my own fault. Seems that the carts ain't too fond of taking damage and will pop off the tracks and subsequently despawn if hit. I've had them derailed by errant skeleton arrows, and I've...

    Whitelist Server DarkServer.co.uk [1.4.7 - Ultimate Pack] [Whitelist] | 50 slots | Mature | Dedicated 24/7 | 16+

Hi. Do you have any mods/items disabled? Is Gregtech on the cheap or the expensive recipes? How advanced is the server/how long has the map been running?
