If you want to make a personal modpack with a launcher, use MultiMC. I think you are trying to apply something to the FTB launcher that it isn't intended for. After all, if you are using an entirely custom modpack, you don't need the FTB launcher anyway.

You only need to add the Core .zip to the .jar. Make sure that is the only one you are tossing in there.

A big thanks is needed for the guys behind the FTB pack, for addressing this issue with haste. Most of us here in the community understand this is a beta, and this is all being worked on behind the scenes. Thanks again for all the hard work guys.

If you change your texture packs, make sure to re-install Optifine. Otherwise you get weird texture glitches like zombies with faces on their legs and whatnot =p
