True, but if you want the crafting recipes to be harder on purpose, just make the resources harder to get.

Every Mod that requires you to craft 100+ Items for that one single item.

Try Removing SpiceOfLife, report this to the mod author of SpiceOfLife for him to fix this bug / try to install a newer version of it.

Try removing optifine

Try copying the assets folder from a working minecraft folder into your modpack, the only problem i can think of is that the sounds were downloaded wrong/corrupted/ are inaccessible. Can you show us the log to examine the problem. :)
