My solution was to use a RS latch, set the first MFSU (One closest to AESU) to output signal when empty, and the last MFSU to output a signal when full. Wire it into the RS latch and the output to the Matter Fab. So when all the MFSUs empty, the latch gets toggled and the Matter Fab turns off...

I personally had to resort to using BC pipes for the machines, with a diamond pipe on top of the arboretum sorting humus and saplings into the machine. Once the items passed the machine though (Apples, logs, sand, excess saplings) they were piped into a relay and then into my RP sorting system...

I am attempting to automate my humus production using the Carpenter machine from forestry. I read on the wiki that it is supposed to be able to auto-craft recipes if the resources are in an adjacent chest....well I have items in the chest and it does not seem to want to function...anybody else...

While it may sound overkill, a filter can only support up to 9 items per machine, whereas a sorting machine is able to handle 40 per machine. Having 3+ filters hooked up to one chest to fulfill my packaging needs is overkill IMHO. Plus the sorting machine isn't that much more expensive...
