Hmm... are you sure that the 'ticking screen' thing isn't caused by server side stuff? I managed to play around on a SSP world just fine but still an NPE on the server.

Well, I must say: I love VMware. Made a new image solely for testing purposes so that there would be no odd Enviroment Variables, and it worked. Not to figure out how to do it on a real PC...
