I am mining at lvl13 in the first 3 hours i mined, i got 9 redstone now suddenly i got 58 in 10mins. guess the luck changed

Hello, I recently started playing FTB again, this time i'm playing on the Monster pack. But i have run into a BIIIIG problem. I. CAN'T. FIND. ANY. REDSTONE. OR. DIA. i have been branch mining for 3 hours, and i have only found 9 redstone. Am I just VERY unlucky or is there a problem????
