    Well, I've had no luck getting this working. If someone could confirm whether it's a bug or I'm doing something wrong or whatever that would be great, but in the mean time I've set up a cheap alternative with ItemDucts until I can generate enough resources to start making Alvearies.

    Yep, definitely using Apiaries. I've actually seen that video before - it's what prompted me to try this out in the first place. There's another similar video I've seen dated around November which suggests it *should* work, but I'm having no luck. Here's a screenshot of my creative test setup...

    What I do is have a Buildcraft structure pipe leading from the Forestry machine to the Energy Cell. Forestry machines have the "Has Work" trigger for gates, so you can use that to send a redwire signal to another gate next to the Energy Cell, which emits a redstone signal to activate the cell...

    Yeah, I've been testing it with pure bees. I tried it out in creative just to be sure too, using pure meadows bees, but no luck.

    I'm not sure that direction matters to be honest, but yeah, I've tried it on the top, bottom and the sides and it's not worked on any of them.
