Am I the only one who habitually mines out everything around a diamond ore before mining the ore itself anyway? I'm so used to finding diamonds right next to lava that I always dig out the area around the block to be certain my diamond isn't going to be burned up by lava even if I don't hear...

This is only true of the tier one tools, picks, mattocks, etc, that use normal bindings, the tier two tools like hammers, excavators, and the like which use tough bindings and tough rods all pieces contribute to the durability, using a paper tough binding will have a noticeably lower durability...

They were boring but practical, and ruby swords looked pretty nice when Sphaxified, using them meant you could save your valuable iron for other uses like machines, power armour, and converting into thaumium, plus they could be crafted on the fly in mines without needing to spend time smelting...

Go to your install folder, wherever that is, and click the config folder, there should be a folder inside called EE3 with the EE3 config inside.

Generally deleting the config file will just cause it to generate a fresh one when you launch the game, might make it take a few seconds longer to load when you launch it the first time but other than that it generally won't have any other effects.

Biomes o Plenty was part of the 1.5.2 Ultimate BETA packs, but were disabled by default, just like Unleashed.

Try deleting the EE3 config file and relaunching the game, sometimes an out of date config can cause issues with the game. Also are you using a fresh world or one existing prior to updating?

I just installed Unleashed last night, and it's the most up to date version, so yes.

Just NEI'd myself a stone and some items to test it with in my Unleashed world, worked fine for me. Try relogging, that usually fixes it.

Have to admit I don't really miss Red Power, the only thing I miss at all are the volcanoes just because I liked making volcano lairs, other than that and the gem tools I never really used anything from Red Power, with Tinkers Construct I can't see much use for the gem tools since I can make...

Substitute a thaumium binding, you still sacrifice some durability, but not as much as paper, and you still get an additional mod slot if you use at least one thaumium piece just like you'd get from using a single paper piece.

As I've said earlier, the answer seems obvious to me. mDiyo's mods are more fun, less intrusive, and are made by a person who's not a colossal, condescending ass, drop Greg like the bad habit he is and keep Tinkers Construct and Natura.

Exactly, people don't use mDiyo's tools because he nerfed the vanilla tools, and unlike Greg mDiyo never disabled the ability to craft vanilla tools either, they use them because mDiyo made his method of crafting tools more interesting and more useful.
