Possible to make coal in the beta pack?

You could use charcoal to fuel the blast furnace. It takes twice as much as coal coke, but it is useful if you need so much steel. For boosting coal supplies, the Factorization grinder will produce ~3.5 coal per ore. Also, ~2.25 diamonds per diamond ore.

Are peat bogs only supposed to generate one layer?

A vanilla cactus farm makes for a lot of loose blocks, potentially causing lag. The harvester drops them directly into a chest or pipe, far more server friendly.

Mindcrack: Lithium-Battery not charging Electric Jetpack

I have been able to recharge an electirc jetpack with RE batteries using the Mindcrack Pack. Lithium batteries are equivalent to energy crystals, which do not work with lower tier tools, so this may be intentional. Also, are you sure lithium batpacks work with batboxes, or do they require an MFE?

DW20 pack Ferrous ingot is used for what?

Ferrous and shiny ingots are added by Thermal Expansion, not Redpower. Currently they have no use. Through the ore dictionary they are interchangeable with GregTech nickel and platinum.

Pulverizer is better than Macerator In GregTec

Ferrous dust is equivalent to nickel, which is used in a few GT recipes. Ferrous ore has a secondary output in the pulverizer of shiny dust, which is equivalent to platinum. TE has no current use for either metal, or for the ferrous-iron alloy invar. The industrial grinder is a late game GT...

    Is there cross-mod agriculture compatibility?

Plugins for Forestry adds compatibility for other mods, including flax, but seem to undergoing changes and documentation is a bit lacking. In the Magic Pack the logger and arboretum work with ExtraBiomes trees, but in the Mindcrack Pack the logger won't collect their saplings.

Here is how I made my self sufficient automated bio fuel farm, but is that a worthwile EU source?

In engines: biomass = 50k MJ, biofuel = 200k MJ In a biogenerator: biomass = 8k EU, biofuel = 32k EU A magma crucible will make 1 bucket of lava for 20k MJ, which will produce 20k EU in a geothermal (30k in a GT thermal generator). So no, burning biofuel for EU is not worth it from a pure...

    Beeaylzer

It should update as the mutations occur. Maybe try placing the bees in an apiarists chest? They should also appear in the mutation section of the chest gui.

Are peat bogs only supposed to generate one layer?

Basalt is renewable, albeit slowly. Flowing lava next to a thermopile that is touching ice or snow has a chance to turn into basalt. The snow or ice has a chance to melt, so it must be replaced. Source lava would become obsidian. Basalt generator.

    insanity map pack help

Honey drops in the squeezer or silky propolis in the centrifuge. Or breed up to industrious branch bees.

Quarry + landmarks = not working

The quarry should also be placed at the junction of the three landmarks. For machines that require a 3d space like the filler you need a forth landmark which should be above or below the intersection of the first three.

    Uses for Eggs?

If you have sugarcane and pumpkin farms you could make pumpkin pie. Or put them to use in ShadwDrgn's chicken farm.

Gregtech and Effectively Collecting Berylium. How Did You Do It?

Don't rubies centrifuge into chrome? I think there is a UU recipe for them.

    help with oil refinery

The diesel gen is from GregTech and is similar to the petrolgen. It runs on fuel, biofuel, and IC2 biofuel and coalfuel cells, returning the empty cells. I prefer the petrolgen as it outputs 25 EU/t versus 8 with the diesel, and it's prettier. If you need MJ rather than EU I would agree with...

Why should I start with beekeeping?

Forest bees produce regular honey combs. Silky propolis has a small chance to yield propolis when centrifuged in addition to silk wisps, so tropical bees are a viable alternative to breeding your way up to the Industrious branch. Though they are at home in warm/damp they will tolerate...

Why should I start with beekeeping?

It's better to run that cobble through a pulverizer or macerator first as phosphor yields more lava with sand. Bee breeding, by itself, makes for an interesting mini game, and there more benefits than have been mentioned so far. Honey can be used for honeyed slices, which make your bread...

    [Info] Bees and ExtraBiomesXL

Hell biomes are hellish temp, not hot. The apiary lies to you. Demonic branch bees will work outside of the nether, however their mutations can only occur in a hell biome. This is a biome requirement, not a temp and humidity one, and there are others. Austere bees, of the austere branch, cause...

Icy biomes vs cold for bees

Temp scale is [icy, cold, normal, warm, hot, hellish]. Humidity is [damp, normal, arid]. In the normal biomes taiga is cold and ice plains are icy. As I recall, wintry bees need icy but have a temperature tolerance that allows them to work in cold. If they lose that gene through cross-breeding...

Dealing with Ash from Peat Engines

Peat produces 25% more energy than charcoal. In a stirling engine that means 2k MJ compared to 1.6k with charcoal. Peat fired engines get 2.5 times that, or 5k MJ. I've never heard of a peat engine exploding, but I've not done much with bituminous peat.

Dealing with Ash from Peat Engines

Peat engines periodically dump their ash into adjacent pipes so you don't have to manually empty them. Try placing a diamond pipe in the line to redirect the ash to a chest.
