Peat vs. Other Forms of Farming

or just want to limit loaded chunks... e.g. the difference between a 16x16 farm vs let's say an 18x18 farm would be 1 chunk vs. 4 chunks loaded

    Liquiducts and Steam Compression

An unpowered liquiduct can take 80 steam, so you'll want 9 connections on a 36HP or 5 on a 36LP boiler. After that point you just need one liquiduct to transport the steam. I don't know where the actual cap is but my two 36HPs are both feeding into a single liquiduct leading into 36 ind. steam...

    IC2 Crops Automation?

the crop harvestor doesn't destroy the crop, it just harvests the one crop in front of it once it is fully grown.

A Guide To: Running Your Fusion Reaction Indefinitely (1.4.6/1.4.7)

You can run the whole 32k EU into one matterfab... you just need 4 supercondensators and hook them all up to one fab.

    Stories Full of Win

Items get more expensive every time you use them in an anvil. However you can reset that internal counter by simply renaming the item. I have used the very same Vile Sword for grinding a total of 7 T5 spawners now.

    Methane or hydrogen production

Well almost all of the centrifuge recipes for methane require 25k EU and 250 sec to process and methane nets you 45k EU in a gas turbine. So it is just a matter of scale ;)

    Methane or hydrogen production

Forget about hydrogen, it has been nerved to oblivion is now only useful to get deuterium imho. Methane can still be viable since you get at least some surplus of energy out of it but not nearly as much as you used to. If you want backup fuel why not go with plain old fuel? :D

    Comparison of different energies

Just for the record: On the last map on my server (1.2.5) nuclear reactors were buffed by a factor of 10 (an ice casuc produced a whopping 20k EU/t!) and guess what.... most people still used solars :(

    Question about filters and hoppers

Either use a regulator on top of the hopper with both a stack of saplings and fertilizer in its filter or attach RP2 tubes directly onto the fermenter. For that you only have to connect the sapplings to the top of the fermenter and the fertilizer to the bottom.

    Redpower 2 Managers

items go faster from manager A to manager B so manager A has to send less items and the backlogged items go back faster ;)
  13. S

    Redpower 2 Managers

That is normal behavior for managers since they only send a request into a tube network but no confirmations. Thus a supplying manager will keep on sending items until the request from the other manager stops. A way to get around that is either keep the network small or use magtubes.
  14. S

    Redpower 2 Managers

managers can only access inventories on their front side (the black one), the rear can only interact with tubes, so you will need something that puts stuff into a tube at the back of the manager so it can refill it's chest. The most simple setup would be something like: chest - manager - tube...

    Sorting System and Lag

This lag is often caused by MC's lightengine constantly updating every pulse since redwire and the timer emit light when they are active. To prevent this place a light emitting block under the timer (lamp, lantern etc) and use insulated instead of plain redwire. Also stay away from excessive...

    Forestry multiblock farm automation?

the humus input for RP2 tubes is on the north and south sides of the multiblock structure, just put a hatch there :)

    Fermenters: Need Help!

b0bster is confusing a fermenter with a moistener ;) If you are using RP2 for automation your inputs are: saplings into the top and fertilizer into bottom. With BC pipes you can pump in/out any side you want.

    How do transformers actually work?

Yes, it converts one higher voltage packet into 4 lower voltage packets, by applying a redstone signal you can reverse its logic so it will take 4 lower voltage packets and bundles it into one higher packet.

    Forestry biogas engine lava question

3.5 buckets of biofuel are around 11.67 buckets of biomass (10:3 conversion rate of the still) and biomass produces 50k MJ (5MJ/t over 10,000 ticks), so in total you would get ~583,327 MJ which is almost a full energy cell plus you safe on the running cost for the still

    Logger

The logger scans an area of 21x21x10 with the logger in the bottom center, so it will not cut down logs under it (maybe 1 block below it, not shure on this one). The easiest way for you would be just to set up your farm and see which logs get removed. Then you can just replace those logs with...
