Just a quick question, I read on one of the compressor wikis that a pump over water and placed next to a compressor creates snowballs. I have tried this but it doesn't work. (I want ice, by the way)

I was the same. Took me around a hour on a newly generated map. The snow biome I passed through was incredibly big and took a while to pass through. I finally found a place, next to a oil well. On one side I have flat-lands and a desert with a small jungle. On the other I have a snowy forest...

I've often found emeralds not that hard to find. I know that doesn't help. I'd rather diamonds, though. You could find a village and go the villager trading route.

Cubedhost were flawless for me. I add though, that it was Vanilla and I couldn't say if they are able to host FTB :/.

I can give it a go, if that's OK. I just finished uni for the summer so looking to get into FTB. I prefer to play with others, in SMP it almost feels your builds, whether crappy or not, are in vain. I'm also happy at the prospect of joining a server with mature players. I'm 26, by the way.

I spend too much time do that anyway :D I've always frowned upon this. I suspect others do. I have done this previously for a friend who played unregistered on our offline server and bought the game and needed stuff given - I guess I was OK with that Thanks. I may give it a try at some...
